6 Days Chimp and Bwindi Gorilla Safari

This 10 days Rwanda and Uganda Wildlife safari will take you to different tourist destinations in the Western and Southwestern part of Uganda and Rwanda like Kibale forest National Park; Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking.

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. You will be met and assisted by our Safari guide. Transfer Entebbe for overnight at the Papyrus guest House
Day 1
Arrival in Entebbe International Airport
Road transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. Arrive at your chosen accommodation and check-in. Evening at leisure to rest and prepare for the upcoming days..
Overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Camp
Day 2
Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park, home to some 13 species of primates including the red colobus and L'Hoest's monkeys and 70 mammal species. This park has one of the greatest primate densities in the world. Botanists and butterfly lovers will also enjoy the network of shaded forest trails and with no less than 375 different recorded bird species. In the afternoon you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 3
Chimp tracking in Kibale Forest National Park and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
This day you will do a morning boat Cruise and return to the Lodge for Lunch then later do a game drive as you exit queen for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park (about 6 hrs). Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp
Day 4
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
You will wake up very early, take breakfast and be taken to the park offices for registration and briefing. The briefing covers information about the park, groups are allocated based on level of fitness, preference and age. One done with the briefing, you will be offered a hiking stick and led into the forest to locate the primates. Gorilla tracking is an interesting and adventurous activity. It takes you through dense forest, shrub, muddy areas before suddenly finding the gorilla group. Take as many photos as you can as you will only be with the family for one hour. You will then be offered a certificate of participation before being driven back to the lodge for lunch and rest. After resting and checking out, you should prepare late afternoon for a Batwa Cultural Experience. Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp
Day 5
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After the previous day’s activities Gorilla Trek, it’s time to spend the whole day relaxing and exploring one of Africa's most naturally beautiful places Lake Bunyonyi. Overnight at Birdnest Safari Lodge.
Day 6
Visit to Lake Bunyonyi
After Breakfast, you will set off to Rwanda to Volcanoes National Park.

Volcano Climbing Besides wildlife, Volcanoes national park is a home for three extinct volcanoes. Travelers to this park therefore have an added advantage of hiking to the top of any Volcano which rewards them with spectacular views of Rwanda’s rolling hills, Kigali city, Virunga volcanoes and local communities. Mt Karisimbi is the most hiked Volcano and the experience is worth the hike.

Caving Do not miss out visiting the Musanze caves on your Rwanda safari to Volcanoes national park. Experienced guides will lead you into these caves while narrating to you the mysteries of the caves, history and all other facts about Rwanda.
Other optional activities you can do in Volcanoes national park include cultural tours especially to Iby’Iwacu cultural village, bird watching, visiting the twin lakes of Bulera and Buhondo among others.

Day 7
Rwanda to Volcanoes National Park
Today will finally have the unique experience of tracking the Golden Monkeys. This takes place at the same time, 7:00am just like gorilla trekking. The Golden monkeys are a rare species that is also listed as endangered so Volcanoes national park currently has two habituated golden monkeys’ troops that are available for viewing. Golden monkeys in Rwanda live in the bamboo vegetation towards the base of the volcanoes. You can spend one hour with the monkeys once you find them just like you did with the Gorillas.
Day 8
Golden experience of tracking the Golden Monkeys.
In the morning after breakfast, we transfer by road to Nyungwe forest. We will check into Nyungwe Top view hotel which offers pretty good accommodation close to the park.

Nyungwe top view hotel offers activities mainly centered around the park. So look forward to tracking chimpanzees, seeing he Ruwenzori Colobus monkey, birdwatching, forest walk, and going on the Nyungwe canopy walk. On this day we will do the canopy walk before arriving the lodge.

This is not only the place for relaxation but also one of the place for adventure and insight into Rwanda ‘s single beauty. This forest is the largest protected mountain forest in Africa that covers between 1600 and 2000 sq metres and being a five hour drive into the middle of Rwanda, this long drive to Nyungwe also gives the guests an opportunity to drink in the country’s diverse scenery and the imposing land scape as you move to the main attraction. Once you get to the park, you will then prepare to join on one of the most unbelievable adventures you will ever have, the canopy walk. Overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hotel
Day 9
Nyungwe National Park
Enjoy during the early morning hours the peaceful atmosphere of the Nyungwe Forest. Return to Kigali.

Depending on your departure flight, you will enjoy exploring the great cultural activities – including genocide museum, meet the artists and their work at the dazzling Inema gallery, visit craft shop. Lunch and airport transfer.
Day 10
Transfer to Kigali then to the Airport for departure.
